Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. Sara Ramirez was raised with her American mother. She faced a lot racial taunts that made her feel unwelcome. It was during her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after being highly praised at an audition. Not only did she gain confidence through the audition however, she also re-evaluate her the direction of her career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her biggest breakthrough was when she appeared in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway performance of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater recognition. Also, she is a well-known performer and has published an extended version of her play. As an activist, she strives to promote LGBT equality.
